Pop-up Workshop on Geocoding
August 16 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Dr. Michele Tobias is hosting an informal “pop-up” workshop on Geocoding – transforming physical addresses to spatial coordinates – from 1-2pm on Friday, August 16. She’ll also discuss PII and HIPAA data.
We’ll meet in the DataLab (DSI) – Shields Library room 360 (or 362 if it’s a smaller group – sign will be posted on the door). Can’t make it this week? Michele will post materials online afterwards and offer a full workshop on the topic later this coming academic year, and you can always meet with her during drop-in GIS office hours (currently Weds 2-4pm in the Shields Library Map Room).
Bring your laptop with QGIS 3.4-3.8 installed and running. (Michele is using 3.8). QGIS runs on Mac, Windows, & Linux – http://qgis.org for free/open source download – do this before the workshop. We unfortunately do NOT have time to troubleshoot installations at the workshop. Prior experience with QGIS is helpful but not necessary.
To register, email email@example.com.
